All About Us
At Rebagz, we want to change the world with style! Enough with badly
made, “beige and itchy” accessories. Marty Stevens-Heebner launched Rebagz
and Half the Sky Designs in 2007 by pairing smart design with sustainability.
Determined to redefine fashion, she started creating gorgeous, on-trend bags that
weren’t obviously “eco.”
Over in the Philippines, where all our bags are made under fair labor conditions,
Marty set up a network of suppliers and organizations to make Rebagz using
recycled materials ranging from recycled paper to rice sacks, from remnant faux
leather from shoe and upholstery factories to recycled juice pouches.
Rebagz’ eco- and human-friendly practices have garnered us the Green America
Seal of Approval, and our PETA badge signifies that we’re one of their cruelty-free
vegan brands. We were also named California Small Business of the Year because
of the mindful way we do business.
All that, coupled with our flare for style, has landed us on the “Today Show” (twice!
), the cover of WWD/Women’s Wear Daily, and we were named favorite eco-
bag by the readers of InStyle magazine. We’ve been featured in lots of other
magazines as well, and our designs were twice named “Best in Show” at the New
York International Gift Fair by New Age Retail.
Like you, we work hard and we’re grateful for everything that comes our way. And
we’re proud to offer you beautiful bags that are kind to people, animals and the
planet as a whole.
At Rebagz, we don’t think you need to shout and scream to change the world. Let’s
rock it with style instead.
